The Titanic was launched into Belfast Lough on May 31, 1911. But before construction could even begin, Harland and Wolff had to demolish three slipways and build two larger ones in their place. The White Star Line’s Titanic was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast Ireland starting in 1909 with construction taking three years.
